Properties and advantages of halogen-free heat shrink tubing
As the name suggests, halogen-free heat shrink tubing contains no halogens. When halogen-free tubing burns, little to no toxic substances are released. Additionally, there is significantly less smoke generation compared to tubing that does contain halogens.
For this reason, the use of halogen-free heat shrink tubing is recommended in environments where the risk of smoke or toxic gas release could cause damage in case of fire. This includes areas where people and animals are present, but also situations where certain gases could damage electronics.
