With adhesive
Heat shrink tubing with adhesive is used for applications where it is of importance that the heat shrink tubing creates a tight seal on the cable on which it is used. The adhesive, or glue, inside of the heat shrink tubing melts when the heat shrink tubing is heated, creating a tight seal. This seal ensures that moisture and dust cannot get into the heat shrink tubing and reach the cable.
Sometimes, the adhesive lining is created in a process called co-extrusion. When this is the case, the material type is called ‘crosslinked co-extruded adhesive lined polyolefin’. Only our heat shrink tubing type ‘HBK’ is made out of this material.
