Ty-Rap® is a brand name of ABB, the company that has incorporated Thomas & Betts – the original inventors of the cable tie as we know it. After developing the Ty-Rap® brand, Thomas & Betts has also developed the Ty-Fast® brand, which offers cable ties with a plastic locking barb. Ty-Rap® cable ties use a more durable, but also more expensive metal locking barb.
